sonic cleaning for industries

Industry

Sonic Cleaning - cleaning by sound is used to keep clean boilers, catalysts and filters from ash accumulations. Use or retrofit these to improve boiler-/filter- performance.

Sonic Cleaning

Sonic cleaning is a Cost-efficient cleaning method for industrial applications. Kockum Sonics has developed and installed Sonic Cleaning products since the early 1970s. Kockum Sonics is unsurpassed in the variety of applications offered. Our development of various sound emitters has been done in close co-operation with our customers, as well as with several boiler and catalyst cell manufacturers. We at Kockum Sonics can offer you the best and widest range of sonic cleaning products backed-up with our core knowledge in acoustics and long experience from process technology. Our products are among other applications, used for Boilers, SCR´s and Filters as well as for Food and fine chemical applications.

SONOFORCE

SONOFORCE is the name of Kockum Sonics group of Audible Sonic Horns used for Sonic Cleaning. The sound is created by means of compressed air that is passing through a  self-resonating diaphragm and a sonic horn. Kockum Sonics SONOFORCE Sonic Horns has been used in many different applications all the way back from the start of the cleaning by sound technology. Our standard range of these sonic horns has been successfully installed in applications having a gas  temperature of up to 1000 degree Celsius (1830 degree F). Our SONOFORCE sonic horns have replaced steam soot blowers totally. Compared with steam soot blowers, our SONOFORCE System is cheaper to purchase, operate, install  and do maintenance on. The other great advantages compared with steam soot blowers are that our SONOFORCE System will not cause any additional wear of the boiler tubes. This means that the lifetime of the boiler tube packages will become longer. The most resent development has been made in close  co-operation together with several Catalyst cell manufacturers. This has resulted in our latest SONOFORCE sonic horn, the IKT 230/170, that is the best choice to keep clean any catalyst cells. This solution has been widely accepted in the market as  the best alternative to keep catalyst cells clean.

INSONEX

INSONEX is the name of Kockum Sonics group of Infrasound Generators used for Sonic Cleaning.
The sound is created by means of compressed air that is passing through a valve head with a piston and a resonance tube. Our standard range of these Infrasound Generators has been successfully installed in applications having a gas temperature of up to 800 degree Celsius (1470 degree F).
Our HT versions for high temperature applications, has been installed for gas temperatures up to 1260 degree Celsius (2300 degree F), where our INSONEX has replaced retractable steam soot blowers totally. Compared with steam soot blowers, our INSONEX System is cheaper to purchase, operate, install and do maintenance on.
The other great advantages compared with steam soot blowers are that our INSONEX System will not cause any additional wear of the boiler tubes. This means that the lifetime of the boiler tube packages will become longer.

PULSATOR - Silo discharge

The Pulsator System is using low frequency air pulses to fluidise the material stored in any silo. This discharge system has been developed for efficient loosening of material and to avoid bridging in any type of silo. In this case the activator operates by means of rapid compressed air impulses from a wholly pneumatic pulsator.
For smaller silos a steel pipe can be sufficient to distribute the pulsating air.
For larger size silos, there is a need to use two or more panel activators so that the air pulses can be distributed over a larger surface. The air that is blown in is thus finely distributed so that it forms a slip surface over the panel activator surface. The pulsating air is distributed in between each particle and displaces them easily. This combination results in especially efficient emptying, the mass of material is set in uniform movement, and it shows a minimal tendency to segregate. The system is highly flexible, as the size, shape and location of panel activators can be adapted to all different designs of the silo – i.e. metal or concrete silos with straight or curved sides. This type of silo discharge will not create any mechanical demolition of the silo walls. The activation of the pulsator can be made automatic by means of a solenoid valve or manually.
A mobile Pulsator-Lance can be used for discharge from truck-containers or in other temporary problem areas.
