Upgrade of Shipmaster onboard Knock Adoon

Kockum Sonics makes a major upgrade of the Shipmaster system onboard Knock Adoon

The FPSO Knock Adoon was some ten years ago fitted with a Shipmaster valve and pump automation system. Knock Adoon was converted from VLCC to FPSO and Kockum Sonics made the cargo and ballast automation system.

After a pre-survey Kockum Sonics installed a system that modernized the entire automation. The system has been in operation for 10 years. To date there has not been a single day with operation failure. The Shipmaster system has not suffered for any failures and no service engineer attendance has been needed for the entire time.

As the Knock Adoon got an extended contract the system had to be upgraded to secure the functionality. Kockum Sonics has on the vessel's managers request replaced the I/O, upgraded the computers and modernized the HMI platform.

The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was successfully completed in late December. Installation is planned for 1Q 2017.
