July 25th 1956 is a date with significance for everyone interested in maritime history.

That is the date that SS Andrea Doria collided with MS Stockholm off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States.

After almost 65 years at the bottom of the ocean the ship’s whistle was salvaged by Atlantic Wreck Salvage LLC
and shipped to Kockumation works for restoration.
Kockumation and Kockum Sonics today is more than ship whistles but it is still one of our core businesses.
It has been an honor having it here in our workshop in Sweden and we all feel like we are a part of history.
The restored horn of SS Andreas Doria will sound again at the New Jersey Maritime Museum on July 25th 2021,
ommemorating the 65th anniversary of the ship´s tragic sinking. The event will be live streamed.
